Svalbard Time-Lapse Terrain Model
Terrain models for the whole and parts of Svalbard, at different resolutions. The models are mainly generated from stereo models constructed from newer aerial photos. Where such construction is not yet done, the models are generated from elevation contours, lakes and coastlines. The all-covering models are updated several times yearly. The all-covering models are at resolution 20 and 50 metres, while the regional models are at resolution 5 metres (2 metres for Bjørnøya). Most recent update: 14 September 2017. All-covering terrain model is at 20 meter resolution : The standard deviation for areas with data generated from stereo models is approximately 2-5 metres, except in glaciated areas, where it can be somewhat higher. The standard deviation for areas with data generated from older elevation contours, lakes and coastlines, is approximately 25 metres. All-covering terrain model is at 50 meter resolution : The model is generalized from the 20 meter model (bilinear resampled). As the 20 metre model is a mosaic of different subset models with different quality and date, sudden drops and lines in the terrain might be visible locally between subsets in the model.
