IceBridge BedMachine Greenland, Version 6

IceBridge BedMachine Greenland, Version 6 provides a compilation of Greenland bed topography that assimilates seafloor bathymetry and ice thickness data through a mass conservation approach. A new 150m horizontal resolution bed topography/bathymetric map of Greenland is constructed with seamless transitions at the ice/ocean interface, yielding major improvements over previous data sets, particularly in the marine-terminating sectors of northwest and southeast Greenland. The bed topography is derived by subtracting the ice thickness from the Greenland Mapping Project (GIMP) Digital Elevation Model . Ocean bathymetry is mapped by combining sparse bathymetry measurements from single and multibeam measurements and casts and RTopo-2 ( Schaffer et al. , 2016). In IceBridge BedMachine Greenland, heights are referenced to mean sea level as realized by the EIGEN-6C4 geoid, horizontal positions are referenced to the WGS84 ellipsoid and projected coordinates to NSIDC Sea Ice Polar Stereographic North (EPSG 3413). The data were collected between 1 January 1993 and 31 December 2021. The nominal year of this data set is 2007. The output product is generated at a 150 m resolution. The true resolution varies between 150 m and 5 km.
